I actually wrote this at 2am last Monday and didn't think to post it (since I so rarely post anything) until now.

There is a subtle sameness to SciFi and Fantasy.  Through different mechanism they show us the same suspicion of our own capacity.  The shift, or schism, in our portrayal of our suspicion reveals our shift in the identity of our weakness ( Read more... )
