Field Day!
I'm volunteering for field day at Cait's school today. This is like the 5th year in a row I'm doing it. It's a lot of fun. I was thinking about it yesterday; field day is like the definitive comparison for excellent fun - "Wow, we could have a field day with that!"
I should have called or e-mailed the person in charge of the PTO ( the modern day PTA ) before hand I suppose, but I'm terrible about being in touch with them. I generally just show up at the field and have them put me to work. Which actually has worked really well in the last couple of years, so eh. They all recognize me and know I love to help when I can, so it works out.
This is Cait's last year at Lincoln Thomson, her elementary school. The school only goes to 5th grade, so next year she'll be in middle school. Connor's going back to Lincoln Thomson next year though, so I can still do field day next year. Hey, it's fun! Off I go! = )
