cantchangeme - where did those crass band mornings go and the dreaming over tea

Thank god, Veronica was actually serious about getting the PS2. The whole buying spree the two of us went on was fairly incredible. I'm pretty sure that, in general, the spending of money was far more enjoyable than anything we've done in the last few days.

We were finally here in Virginia and after some exhausted sleep we woke up in the afternoon just as Daniel and Maribeth were getting some late afternoon lunch rush. I wasn't going to stop at any point thinking that the family that just happened to pick us up was too perfect and that I didn't believe in perfection at all, but at least we had something. I couldn't actually start complaining about things actually falling into place.

Promptly after sleep, just as Veronica said, we went shopping for far too many things we lacked. A bed? A TV? Things that would actually sustain us and our eternal teenage boredom. Though I stood with Veronica for about fifteen minutes actually debating that we'd need a second controller for the PS2. Like she wasn't going to start in with it too? There was no possible way she was going to get out of that.

Though, I'm pretty sure that I compromised seeing as she wanted something pink for the apartment. That's your pillow, Veronica. Somehow, we slipped out of getting floral bed sheets. I thank the gods on my favor.

I hadn't forgotten everything we had discussed before finally passing out of exhaustion. Lilly was still such a pivotal part of our lives - still being the keyword. Despite everything - all her haunting - we had our own lives. Maybe the 'death' of our previous lives just gave way for what's happening now.

... or maybe we're just screwed no matter what.

But just because Lilly doesn't or does approve of certain things where ever she is? That's not something about to start controlling us. I didn't feel guilty for being with Veronica and I wasn't about to start.

It's evening by the time things are delivered and/or set up. The PS2 was currently being used as a CD player and I let out a long breath before flopping back onto the half-made new bed, tugging her down with me and not letting her finish the job. "If we don't stop for a break, we're going to be tired all over again. I don't want to spend this whole day sleeping and moving."
