Crawlies!

So there I was...playing Mafia Wars and reading [since the game takes forever to do anything on facebook.  When there was an unholy racket in the kitchen.  I set down the computer and shoved in the bookmark.  Here comes Curly trotting past me with a tail hanging from his mouth.  Stupid cat has finally caught a mouse!  Which we have been waging a war against for nearly a year in the kitchen.  He headed into the office area and let the little bugger go...managing to pounce and catch it again [he has a habit of losing his prey the few times he has actually caught one].  He headed for my shoe as I was getting up to get it from him....we don't need mice in the rest of the house since they are fairly contained at the moment.  I grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and the mouse by the tail.  Shaking to try and get him to let the blasted thing go before it took off into the collection of dolls.  He let go and I hurried to the bathroom to flush it, not having the heart to let it go outside [one leg was nearly torn off by this time].  Poor mouse was still alive and swimming,...as I stood there wondering what would happen if it didn't go down with the water.  Thankfully it swirled like anything does in the toilet and I started washing my hands...over and over and over again.  That whole germophobic-haunta virus thing.  Then I dumped some treats in front of the cat for a job well done and had to go smoke, I suck at killing things!  Now I will have creepy crawlies for the rest of the night and have to clean and sanitize the counter top....I am not sure where he got the mouse from though I know he started in one of the kitchen chairs!
