Why do radio stations still play Cindy Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun?" It is possibly the worst the worst pop song ever recorded, featuring terrible instrumentation, defiantly over-the-top-awful singing, and truly contemptable lyrical content. And yet it, rather like the sneering face of the man who killed your father when you were just a lad, claws its way into your psyche and refuses to let go, taunting you for all eternity.
