Is there any truth to this?
Sorry to post such an (as yet) unsubstantiated piece of news, I'm hoping someone can confirm or dispel this.
Apparently, Michael Ballack has been officially dropped from the National Team.
Apparently, the DFB has already scheduled a farewell game for him - against Brazil on August 10th; this means he ends his NT career with a total of 99 caps.
I say 'apparently' because the only source quoted in the article I read was Bild. There were no direct quotes or anything, only that things were 'revealed' or 'indicated' etc. So far I haven't found any reports in English, and I can't read German so I don't know if any other (more reliable) sources have reported on this.
Anyone have further info (not speculation)?
(On the off-chance that it is true, this just feels so... anticlimactic; not with a bang but with a whimper etc. And to stop at 99 caps... that's almost symbolic of his whole career. So close Micha, so close).
