Playing Catch Up
I met up with Kak Ann in the evening for dinner at Ichiban Boshi outlet at the Esplanade. She was going to watch a play with her drama students, so I thought I'd grab her before the show started. I'm really glad to have people like Kak Ann in my life. It's really amazing how we can pick up the conversation from where we had left it since last year, and I am glad that I have had the opportunity to re-affirm the friendship that we share.
We talked about the people whom we knew, and talked and talked about work and life and all the funny spaces in between. We talked about our relationship with our families, and by that extension, we talked about ourselves in the context of the rest of humanity. I found a kindred soul in Kak Ann, and her sharp wit and ready laughter puts a warm fuzzy feeling in me.
It's been three years, and boy, it's been one heck of a ride for both of us. It's been a great weekend for me, and Kak Ann was the high point of it all.
