I would just like to talk about the wonderful uses of the phrase "but still..." For example:

"I think you should talk to your parents about paying for college again. I mean, you can't get any financial aid and you don't really have any money... what else are you going to do?"
"That's what my older sister thinks. But dude, my dad told me I was an arrogant loser with no direction in life. Then he threw me through a closet door. Then he said that on top of being an arrogant loser with no direction on life, I'd just broken the closet. I really don't think I want to be financially dependent on those people anymore."
"Yeah... but still, I think your sister is right."

You see, by putting "but still" at the beginning of your responses, you can completely write off any personal experience or subjective emotional input that anyone has offered, hence maintaining a rational structure in your argument and being completely right from an objective standpoint.
