Steampunk Play at Ohayocon
The theme for the next Ohayocon is going to be steampunk. Well, it so happens that The Confused Greenies do have a Victorian steampunk style harlequinade already!
In December 2009 as our last show of the year, we presented The Phantasmagorical Contraptions of Dr. A. P. Pliance. This version was a short, abridged combination of several short plays by Gillian Daniels and Aaron Teiser.
The last time we went to an anime con we had less than ideal luck presenting Japanese comedic kyōgen. However, steampunk and sci-fi are big at anime cons. And since Marcon next year is alternate history (with a lot of steampunk), we were already thinking of doing this play again there. Many of our players from this show either go or like to go to Ohayocon anyway.
So, for those of you who go to Ohayocon... Would you think that our Phantasmagorical Contraptions would go over well next year? How best to approach the convention about this? It's a short play so we'd probably have to do additional stuff to get in - anyone know how that works? What additional stuff? Another short steampunk or try some our kyōgen again?
And... Anyone interested in helping us out in the show?! :D
