So,
The Confused Greenies are looking for web space off the CWRU servers... This is especially important as we now hear from the
CWRU Observer that
Filer is soon to be shut down by campus IT (no reason listed, no date given).
We'd be thinking about moving off anyway since our URL is so clunky. We've been thinking about using the umbrella name for our company - so something based on Patchwork Players. However, some of those have already been taken.
http://www.patchworkplayers.com/ - a storytelling theatre
http://www.patchworkplayers.org/ - a year ago was for "Patchwork Theatricals ... a combination of two student organizations at East Tennessee State University, Patchwork Players and US Institute for Theatre Technology"; a week ago was a 404; but now goes to a links page run by dsnextgen.com which seems to not be the cleanest site around
http://www.patchworkplayers.net/ - which doesn't exist
So... how would one get a hold of
http://www.patchworkplayers.org/ ? I presume buy it but how does one even do that?
Also, I'm unsure how to host it. I've never hosted a site off the CWRU network before. I don't know how to look at for this. I prefer having the ability to just edit .HTML files in TextPad and drop all the pages, images, draft documents, etc, into folders as if they were on my computer. But what can offer that?
Megan suggested we might want to look at other names like: www.patchwork-players.org as well. What do people think of hyphens?
Thanks, everyone!
