Oh today.
Nothing of this day really seems to matter in comparison to what happened on my walk home.
I must admit..
I left work in an angry state...
*grumble grumble*
I walked the 9 blocks to the sky train station...and was
disappointed to see 3 out of 4 ticket machines not working!
The only one that was working..had two teenage girls standing in front of it..talking..just..talking
Not buying tickets or really even THINKING about buying tickets (yes, I can read minds)
but just-as i said-standing there.
So i stood..looking..as i pulled out my debit card which i would hopefully..eventually..
insert into the ticket machine.
As I stood there..i suddenly heard a
"here.."
The Sudden freak entrance of foreign dialogue into my tranced world shook me from
my daydream..and i looked up..
There stood a tall man..mid-twenties..
long black coat..dark, curly hair and BEAUTIFUL dark eyes..
I almost sank into another trance as I wondered how this striking creature had entered my world..
HAHA..go ahead and laugh at my dorkiness!!
But then he kind of raised his eyebrows..and looked at his hand..
so i looked down.
He was holding out a skytrain ticket..still good for at least another hour.
and I said.."Oh..wow..thanks."
And that was it.
Of course i extended the scene with fancy language for dramatic effect..but it did feel that long.
The important part is...
That i just experienced a RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS...
I know nothing about this man..
he could be wonderful..a father..
a brother..he could beat his wife..he could be a great cook,
he could work in a homeless shelter, he could have a 9-5 job..
All i know of him..is the simple act he performed of giving me his skytrain ticket..
And now I smile..
and I thought about him..all the way home.
I think i'd like to see him again..just to prove it wasnt a dream..and that yes..
kind people to exist outside of my bubble world.
Thanks :)
