Went to see DeVotchKa at the Fillmore last night with Gill. Was anyone else there? What'd you think?

• March 12 - Bar Kokhba - 2 sets
• March 13 - Masada Quintet
• March 14 - The Dreamers
• March 15 - Electric Masada

Much thanks to beckastar, I got to see Cirque du Soleil's Kooza last night. It was much more traditionally circus-like than the last time I saw them. This isn't that surprising I guess since the amazing set design was so much a part of Ka and that kind of thing could only be pulled off in a more permanent installation.

I finally made it to hear Audium this weekend. I really enjoyed it! It's basically a small circular space with a bunch (on the order of a 100 or so) speakers all over the room. A performer plays tape loops, dynamically manipulating them and their position in the room. The audience is seated in circles around the room. The chairs have a good ( Read more... )
