Happy As Larry

An hour and a half of dance was exactly what I needed to get my muse back. Especially character based dance. *happy sigh*

Happy As Larry, Shaun Parker (DTP funded)

Based on the 9 Enneagram personality types, this was a 9-hander, on the topic of making people happy. :D I only cried once, and that was when the Perfectionist (who had me thinking of Eliot very quickly) was driven to collapse.

There was an interesting comparison between the perfectionist and the achiever - while the achiever was dancing *for* the - dancer created - audience (all smiles and perfect posture), the perfectionist was dancing *because* of the audience (every round of applause was a request for more, not congratulation for doing well). I think there's fic in there somewhere. Maybe.

Only disappointment was an immature audience. *sigh* While I appreciate that theatres need to widen their audience base to fund more dance... it means the theatres have to widen their audience base.

Everyone in the UK who might be near a show some time soon, maybe have a look? There are lots of theatres now doing reduced tickets for under 26s. I got *free* tickets for an Alston show which is just crazy.

dance, things which are wonderful, recommendations, incoherent squee-type noises
