Into the Nest

Intimate views of the courting, parenting and family lives of familiar birds.
by Laura Erickson and Marie Read, 2015.

The photography in this book is amazing--from the adult birds in their natural habitats to spectacular shots of eggs & nestlings in situ. I really appreciated how it was organized, too--a brief overview on birds' behavior in general, then brief chapters on each of more than two dozen common &/or interesting species--warblers, sparrows, ducks, pigeons, mockingbirds, cardinals, etc.

I like the book so much, I bought a copy for Dad for his 84th birthday. I was surprised not to find it on the shelves in Nature's Niche or Joseph-Beth, so I just ordered a copy through Amazon and sent it to him--he was excited to get it.
