This is just a public service announcement for anyone who went to Northview.
Mr. Shaul, the band director, passed away yesterday. My dad found out because they were in Lions Club together and Mr. Shaul's daughter sent out an email, so I thought I should pass the word along.
Visitation is on January 6th, 2-6pm, and the funeral is on the 7th at 11am. Both are at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, 9350 E. Washington St. I don't know yet if I'll be going to either, but there's a good chance I'll go to whichever my dad attends.
Alternatively, Mr. Shaul asked that memorial donations be considered for Indiana Lions for the Indiana School for the Blind or Take Five Community Outreach.
I know I have some awesome memories of Mr. Shaul (his crazy Illinois sweater, having to hand him a blackboard eraser for him to pitch at the bass drummer during a song, forging practice cards like it was my job and totally getting away with it) and I'm sure the rest of you do too. Middle school sucks for everyone, but he made those three years more fun for me.
