I didn't really want to believe it, and I hoped that the traffic would pick up more once Xellos joined the main cast, but it's time to face facts: DoD just isn't getting the kind of interest and feedback that Diplomacy or either of my Legal Matter fics got. I know I should've expected something like this would happen... after all, the very format of Diary means that the reader already pretty much knows everything that's going to happen... or at least the important things. I obviously don't write just to get feedback, greatly appreciate the feedback I've gotten so far, and I've really loved writing Diary so far but... there's a time when you have to look at the results you're getting and say: this needs to be better. I need to fix this.
So, in order to spice Diary up I've decided to ease up on my restrictions to faithfully render the plot of Slayers Try and instead allow for some changes to the plot-line in order to create a greater sense of suspense, explore new possibilities, and attract readers with diverse interests. After all, that's what fanfiction is for. So, just so you're not surprised when the change-over happens, I want to give you all a heads-up on some of the modifications I'm making to the plot of Diary.
Changes to Diary of a Dragon:
-Valgaav is now a vampire. So that's kind of different.
-Filia has torrid love affairs with Valgaav, Xellos, Zelgadis, Xellos's Staff, Xellos *and* Milgazia at the same time, Lina, Almayce, and finally Xellos's staff again (in that order).
-Jillas and Gravos have been replaced with adorable, non-anthropomorphised ferrets.
-There will be a lengthy subplot involving a topless bar in which Xellos is working part time.
-Amelia is a hobbit.
-Lina can now transform into a giant mech and she and Filia have epic, city-destroying robot vs. dragon battles.
-The entire saving the world plot has been scrapped in favor of a large martial arts tournament.
-Breasts in general have been augmented by about 25%.
-Xellos has a goatee now.
I hope you enjoy the new direction that the story takes!
