another Friday, another cat picture
This week was a bit strange. Not only was there a bunch of guest lectures to attend for school, but Geoff was gone on a business trip. And in less than a week I leave for my research trip. Life is crazy. Good crazy, but still. Sometimes I need some downtime.
So today I took that time. And I refuse to feel guilty about it. Yes there were a ton of things I didn't get done, but now I'm more recharged and when I turn my attention to them they will get done faster and feel less like chores. (Except cleaning the bathroom. That's on my list, and that's always a chore.)
I sat on the floor most of the day, watching snow fall (and hail, and rain, and just about everything you could think of... one of those days), singing along to carols, and rughooking. I finished the Christmas tree skirt I've been working on for years. Well, more like worked on it in high school, lost/forgot about it in the kerfuffle of moving to university/my parents moving/etc., rediscovered two years ago and have been working on off and on since then. Yesterday I was in Michaels and happened to see rugbinding, so I picked it up and determined to finish this thing. I haven't cut the extra canvas off yet or bound it, but the rug is hooked. See?
I think it turned out very nice! (Pattern not mine.)
And of course Gus was a super help... did you expect anything else? (He's lying right smack across the few rows I had left to hook at that point.)
