So, there's this thing called real life. Who knew?
Good things:
1.) I've been frustrated with being down and all that and decided that one way to make myself feel like I have significance is to do some community service. So I had my first Meals on Wheels route today. I liked it, and I can take the kids along, and I feel like I'm actually doing something someone would care about.
2.) I was playing around and found
Vote for your favorite TV president and thought, "Who could beat Laura Roslin?" Answer? Jed Bartlet. Wow. That's a toss-up for me.
3.) We've been watching Fringe. I'm not totally hooked yet, but hey- nothing else good is on these days. But if was I was going to write a cross-over (I'm so not), I'd be doing Gaeta/Astrid in a heartbeat. I have no idea why that occurred to me, but I think it would be really, really, really cute.
4.) NaNoWriMo starts in two weeks. All other story ideas need to vacate the premises. I'm almost done with Youth's Final Luxury and Gaeta and Zarek seem to be hiding from me after that, but Dee and Hoshi? I'm talking to you two. OUT.
5.) Politics, politics, politics. You notice I don't talk them. For the record, I'm not voting for Obama. I'm also not voting for McCain. Roslin/Airlock FTW, baby! No, seriously, I'm voting for Bob Barr. Who is Bob Barr? The Libertarian candidate. Why am I throwing away my vote? Because honestly, I'm not crazy about either candidate and have an issue with the two party system. And this year it's not like last time, where I wasn't voting for John Kerry half as much as I was voting against George Bush. I don't hate McCain with the passionate fire that most of my f-list does. But the two-party system gets to me, especially since although I'm registered Republican, I don't really identify with either party.
Plus, Bob Barr called himself Bob the Builder the other night. I am amused :) And this is a nice chance to use my Bush icon, which I think is really funny.
6.) Our sixth anniversary is this weekend, and we're going out to dinner tomorrow night. YAY! A night out with my husband at a nice restaurant. We're not doing anniversary gifts this year (cutting back), but I really could care less because you know what I really want for my anniversary? A night out with my husband at a nice restaurant. Perfect, non?
7.) Toby is pretty much potty trained for the day, and Trevor is refusing to eat baby food. But not the same issues as Toby- oh, no. Trevor has discovered that baby food is gross and foods like sausage and mushroom lasagna, chicken, hot dogs, cantaloupe, feta cheese, cucumbers, honeydew, pizza, mac 'n' cheese, blueberry waffles, pancakes... oh, hell, anything that doesn't eat him back is infinitely better tasting. The one thing Trevor won't eat? Baby oatmeal. The one thing Toby will eat reliably? You guessed it. (Well, that and chocolate.)
Guess that's it. Hope everyone else is doing well!
