I'm really hoping the secret will give us a deep insight into the Zarek-Gaeta-Baltar administration during the New Caprica period.

I'm wondering if they're going to change what the secret was. I mean, unless you listen to the podcasts/commentaries, you have no idea of what it is. So they could change it from the Saggitaron thing, which I wonder how well would hold up. I mean, come on, Baltar. Gaeta obviously isn't crazy about Saggitarons, but he also obviously doesn't blindly hate them, given his friendship with Dee. Did he really think anyone would believe that, especially since they already blindly once believed the worst and nearly killed an innocent man? (Although Baltar doesn't know about that part.)

I wonder how the 'intense' scene with Baltar fits in. I can imagine either that Baltar might be the human-cylon relations diplomat who tries to talk Gaeta out of whatever Zarek is planning.

I totally agree. I can see Baltar being all concerned for Felix's soul, and Felix turning his back on him. I do suspect it's going to be something like that, and I'm hoping very much for an admission from someone- anyone- that Gaeta once loved Baltar in that scene. But I like the idea- and it seems very BSG that the one time Baltar's right and truly trying to save Felix is the one time Felix doesn't listen.

My sappy dream would be Baltar saving Gaeta's life.

I'd like this too, just because I'd like Gaeta to live. But I'm a big fan of the "everyone but Baltar dies" type of theory. (Baltar can't die. He's a cockroach.)

And Chief does need the love. Hey! How about Chief/Dee? :) I like it. I like it a lot. :)

I think they will change it from the Saggitaron plot. Maybe I just hope they change it, because a) Woman King was a sinfully boring ep, Saggitaron issues are dull dull dull, and, b) it seems pointless, since the original idea was Baltar framing Gaeta. The secret should be something real. And I don't think it's believeable to suddenly say 'Oh, Felix was a racist for reals' because it'd be so out of character and unconvincing.

Oh, let the secret be related to Baltar sex/love. Pretty please. We wants it, precious. Admittedly I like the everyone dies but Baltar theory too. *Sigh* Baltar better pin up Gaeta's picture at least.

Woman King was easily the second most boring episode in the entire series. Well, maybe third. (Black Market definitely wins the prize, and I hated Hero as well.) And yeah, I know I'm biased towards Gaeta, but I can't see him engineering a plot to kill people. Not with the whole inside man thing, and then the fact he obviously still felt guilty later. Maybe that's why they dropped the Saggitaron plot in the first place, aside from time- getting anyone to believe it would be extremely difficult.

I'm honestly, truly wondering what else Baltar could have on Gaeta that the audience will believe. Gaeta's being painted as very similar to Helo- he's a good guy who tries to do the right thing. Male lover certainly isn't going to be anything to get worked up about. Cylon lover- even that can be forgiven- look at Helo, Tigh... and besides, Gaeta could turn right back around and say, "um, hi? Caprica Six?" Anything illegal or immoral... maybe? Maybe Gaeta cut some deals with people and Baltar caught him? But given that Zarek is still in power and Roslin faked Hera's death and Adama instigated the Cylon war and Felix isn't even a civilian anymore- who would care? I know the lever really has to be does Gaeta feel uncomfortable over it, and not would any of the crew believe it, but... Baltar sex works better than anything I can come up with.

And I don't mind Gaeta dying as long as someone mourns him. I figure it would be Dee, Helo, or Baltar, with Dee or Baltar being the strongest two contenders. And if we're right about Baltar trying to save him from Zarek and Gaeta dying with Zarek, I'd bet it would be Baltar.

Exactly! Gaeta was the one helping the people of New Caprica at great personal risk to himself. He's a good kid. His ideals have been broken down. Yeah, he's in a dark place now but I'd never be convinced if the writers went to that extreme. But you're right that Baltar is deluded if he thinks Felix has committed any tretchery that rivals his own.

I don't think it's so much that the secret could get Gaeta into trouble. If the secret IS the male lover thing I think it'd be more a case of him not wanting his broken heart exposed to the entire crew. At the time of 'Taking a Break' Baltar was the most hated man alive. What distain would Felix suffer if it was known he was his lover on New Caprica? It's not something he'd be arrested for, but he's already had to suffer so much scorn from his crewmates just for "hidding behind Baltar's skirt". If it's true, I can see why Felix wouldn't want anyone to know.

BTW - did you get that email with my betaing question? I still haven't figured anything out yet...

Yeah. I can see why he'd make something up- I just can't see how he'd ever get Adama to believe it. Especially coming from him.

Very much agree. I've seen people question if Gaeta was going to come out of the closet, and as far as on the ship, I don't think he's in it. It fits the character that Gaeta just doesn't talk about his private life because it's private. (It's another reason I think they could successfully out him. I'd believe that a few people on the ship actually know that he's gay, and everyone else just doesn't think about it or talk about it because they don't think about Gaeta as anything other than tactical officer or DRADIS contact guy, and they just don't really care.) But yeah, it wouldn't be that he'd had a male lover, it would be that he'd been Baltar's lover. Especially if any sex happened after the occupation began.

My theory is that if they change it, it's probably something that wouldn't bother most people, but it bothers Felix and that's enough for it to be effective. But when he jumped back after the whisper, there was so much hate and disgust there and it seemed so personal...

Ack! Sorry, I did- I was having a hard time, too. What about a preliminary draft of the contract, not so much that Baltar has to sign it, but there are a few points that need discussion, because Felix wants to smooth the way for the signing to go easily? Or a discussion on what sort of pay can be provided? Or maybe the age kids can start working? (Maybe even broken down by different jobs?)

If I come up with anything else, I'll let you know. :)

Oooh- you know what else would be acceptable? If Gaeta dies, and Baltar gets a head!Gaeta. I think I could handle that.
