WHAT IS GOING ON WITH LJ?!
Parks and Recreation is my new fave show. I just got caught up and its utterly hilarious and brilliant. I've discussed with firthgal on why it's preferable to The Office, and she brought up how LIKEABLE Leslie is. Yes in S1 when the show is trying to find it's ground she could look like a female Michael Scott but 1) I VERY MUCH DISLIKE MICHAEL SCOTT, therefore if she was Michael in a dress I'd stop watching immediately. And S2 is hilarious now that they know where they're going.
You know, I think the defining difference is that the people of Parks and Rec genuinely like each other. There's just more heart and less darkness and betrayal and heartbreak. Also, Leslie knows what she's doing, which is completely different than Michael. Leslie is perky and lovable and naive and sweet and puts others before herself, and, most importantly, she gets things done. She just doesn't back down from anything, but she does it in a totally respectable and non-obnoxious way.
This is definitely an ensemble show, once that grows with each other. Where the Office is mostly Jim and Pam and Michael and whoever they happened to like or dislike that week, Parks and Recreation is constantly mixing up its cast. Yes, Anne and Mark are together, but they don't isolate themselves like Jim and Pam do in the Office. And Tom could easily be a self-absorbed jerk like they made Ryan, the show also shows him aware of Leslie's let down not having enough funding for the park and donates all the money he earned from the diplomats anonymously for her. Ron exudes an aura that he hates everyone, but he does care for his employees. While at the Office employee get-togethers were forced and no one wanted to be there with each other, Parks and Rec turns to and hang out with one another but not at the expense of suggesting they don't have lives outside of each other.
The show also has a canon threesome between three teenagers. April in general is amazing and I'm actually curious as to where they're going with her character, because she is so not the apathetic teenager she projects that she is. I just wish they'd be nicer to Jerry. :/ I guess that's a creators' inside joke thing, since they did something similar with Toby, but thankfully it's not as vicious.

Will Rachel and Finn ever get back together on Glee? - Benji
MICKEY: Will you forget about those two for a minute, please? Ryan Murphy tells us he was taken off guard by how involved fans were in the Will-Emma pairing. As a result, he and the writers are drafting a "relationship timeline" for the future couple. Yes, couple! Says Murphy: "We have a lot of conversations about 'When should they kiss again? When should they sleep together? Should they sleep together? Should they stay together?' We talk about that a lot." I'm hearing the spring episodes will make quick work of Terri and Will's separation, but that Emma's story line will be of the "be careful what you wish for" variety. Also: Before Rachel and Finn can walk off into the sunset, there's the small matter of Quinn's baby, who we'll also meet this spring.
:/ :/ :/ It better involve Will admitting his own douchey-ness or... I don't even know.
I still don't ship Rachel/Finn either. Give me more Santana, Brittney, Mercedes, Quinn, Artie -- anything but more stupid romantic plots that this show fails really hard at. OOOH and bring back Sue to be principal for a day, but keep the principal because I love him.
