Ari's Song Final Chapter

I'll be eighty-seven; you'll be eighty-nine
I'll still look at you like the stars that shine
In the sky, oh my my my...

As Arizona finished telling her son the last part of her and Calliope’s love story they were reminded of the time by Luke’s growling stomach. Giggling at the embarrassed look on her son’s face, Arizona sends him to wash up before eating. As Arizona starts to get up to finish their dinner her wife gently pulls her back down onto the couch and into her lap.

“Hey you,” Arizona gently responds to her wife’s action.

“Hey to you, too. Have I told you I love you lately?” Callie asks her wife while gazing adoringly at her.

Looking thoughtful, Arizona playful responds, “I think you might have mentioned it once or twice.”

“Well…I love you so so very much, Arizona Robbins-Torres,” Callie tells her wife, “and I am thankful I get to share this amazing life with you. I can’t wait to tell our story again to this little one.”

With her wife’s last statement, Arizona’s hand instinctively goes to Callie’s stomach where a small bump is present. Both women sit for a moment in awe of the slight movements they feel underneath their hands.

“Just a few more months now and we’ll be taking our little girl home to Miami, too,” Arizona tells her wife.

Smiling adoringly at her wife, Callie answers her, “I can’t wait to have my mini Arizona running around. You got your mini me, now I get a mini you. We are going to have the two most beautiful children ever, running around here. How did I get so lucky?”

At seeing the love and adoration in her wife’s eyes, Arizona pulls Callie into a passion filled kiss full of all the love, admiration, and complete devotion she has for the woman in her arms. After breaking apart, Arizona responds to Callie’s question with the only answer she’ll ever have, “Baby, even when I’m 87 and you’re 89, and we’re all old and wrinkly…I’ll still look at you at you like the stars shining in the sky. You are my universe. You didn’t get lucky, we both did.”

The two women sat still grinning stupidly at each other. Just as Arizona was about to lean in for another kiss, their little boy comes running in, “Momma, Mommy I washed my hands! I’m ready to eat!”

Startled by her son’s sudden appearance, Arizona jumps out of her wife’s lap and scoops up Luke into her arms. “Alright let’s eat buddy. We gotta feed Mommy and your little sister, too,” Arizona grins at her son.

“Come on Mommy, the baby is hungry,” Luke tells his Mommy sweetly.

Callie sits contentedly for a moment watching her wife and son finish preparing dinner. As she feels the small child inside her kick, she smiles to self while thinking, ‘oh my my my’.
