Sorry about that. My last post here was somewhat hysterical, I know. Things worked out somehow. Phonecalls were made and letters written and our clearances went through on time. A while back I renamed my blog, but I didn't get around to changing the look of it until this weekend. The layout is the same--I've just changed the color scheme.

Also, I blogged about our trip to Jenner and uploaded some pictures. Check it out! Tell me how you like the new look.

My mother's leaving tomorrow; I have to take her to the airport before coming to work in the morning. It's gotten better, since she's been here. She stopped asking permission to breathe in my house, and she didn't order the same thing I ordered at Outback. We've had a couple of nice conversations.

She doesn't know how to use an ATM machine or a cell phone. She literally--yes, literally--doesn't know how to point-and-click with a mouse; she's terrified of the computer. She wants to know what the weather is back home, so I've got my weatherbug up, set for Prescott, AZ. When the screen is dark all she has to do is jiggle the mouse to activate ( Read more... )

The local forecast still shows a 30-40% chance of thunderstorms through tomorrow night, but the worst seems to be over. In case you haven't heard, the DC area has had torrential rain, with flooding and a mudslide that temporarily closed the beltway.
