I am brand-loyal to Asics GT series of running shoes. I do not run, but I fell in love with the first pair I bought several years ago. My feet blister very easily and those shoes never gave me a problem, no matter how much I walked in them.
I ordered my 4th pair yesterday. I was hesitant to do so. I've always managed to buy them with a good sale price before and the only pair in my size this time was nearly full price. I talked myself into it because (1) my feet have been aching more than usual this past week, (2) one of my feet seems to be developing a blister!, and (3) I realized they were almost a year old and eight months of that year gave them really heavy usage.
I argued against buying them by saying "but they haven't developed holes in the toes yet." They're light-weight shoes and the mesh has always been a bit holey before I've thrown away my previous pairs.
The arguments for new pair won out, of course.
Here's the mystery: I walked my last 1.7 miles in them this morning. I just looked down at them and... there are small holes in the toes. I would have sworn there weren't holes there yesterday.
How did they know? O__O;
