I had a busy weekend, with lots of running around and shopping and store hopping, etc. Shopping definitely burns calories; or at least it does when I shop!
I went to 4 stores on Fri night, and another 3 stores (different stores, of course) on Saturday.
had a meeting on Sunday AM, and after the meeting and Learning Circle went to the Gym.
On the way to the gym, the excuses started. "Its going to be busy." "Its not too bad out, I could go to Mt. Hope for walkies." "I should just go home and clean and get to work on projects."
I ignored the voices and went to the gym. It was not crowded at all. Like... maybe a whole 20 people total. Of course, the attendant at the desk could use a few pointers on customer service, I don't care if you're stuck at work on a Sunday afternoon instead of home watching whatever ballgame you're missing... at least look at me when you take my Card to Scan. Didn't say goodbye when I left, either. too busy having a muffled convo on the company phone. yeah. whatever.
Since it was so not-busy, I opted for 30 min on the treadmill instead of swapping out after 15 - 20 min. As a result, I added another 2 minutes of running. so then the breakdown was:
2 Min Warm-up
3 Min Power Walk
2 Min Running
15 Min Power Walk
2 Min Running
4 Min Power Walk
2 Min Cool Down
Got an odd sort of pain/ache just outside my left armpit after the 1st bout of running; and made powerwalking a little uncomfortable for awhile; but it went away. I also forgot to stretch my back when I did my warm up stretches; and felt it in my lower back after running the 1st time.
I was mildly distracted from my cool down stretches by this hot olive-skinned hottie what reminded me of Naveen Andrews. MMM Sayid lovin'!!
I considered asking Mr. No Personality if he could unlock Studio A; as it was empty and had plenty of space to go through the Tai Chi 24 forms a few times; but decided i didn't want ot make a spectacle and i was getting hungry. So, I went home.

speaking of getting hungry... I combatted severe cravings not once but TWICE this weekend. While shopping about on Fri Night I passed by the Red Robin burger place outside AC Moore. OMG the goodsmells... I suddenly had monster craving for a Swiss Burger with Mushrooms. Like, my mouth was watering for it. I was going to stop at Zebbs on the way home, then I was going to stop at DiBella's for a cheesesteak sub substitute, and then I was going to stop at the South Wedge Diner to get a burger (as in, pulled into the parking lot and killed the engine). Then I started the car, went home, and had a salad topped with roasted chicken strips and fat free Honey Dijon dressing, a bowl of butternut squash soup, and a slice of 3-cheese texas toast. Not my melty burger from hell... but I behaved myself.
on the way back from the gym yesterday, i got a craving for the "creamy battered shrimp" I'd had at Wegmans Wokery the night before. But instead of staying in the left lane to go to Wegmans, I got over into the right lane to get onto the Expressway and head for home. And had another chicken/hummus/pine nut wrap (with black olive slices this time)... which i'd packed solely for the purpose of staving off hunger after the gym.
Healthy (and less spendy) choices. right?
