marta has posted here, giving us updates on two of our pressing issues:
- Regarding the SUP "latest visitors" feature, we have been informed it should not be an issue soon:
Just as an FYI, that functionality will be turned off today. If you check back by tonight you should see that non-SUP users will not show up at all on this program. - Regarding the ongoing banned interest controversy, we are informed:
I just wanted to let you know that a couple of words are coming off of that list in the code-push today. We're checking things out and I'll be able to let you know the result of that by the end of the week. - EDITED TO ADD: Further information on the opt-out status of the visitor logging feature, posted to this very post:
Also, the "My Guests" program for SUP-enabled journals has its own opt-out (based upon what I learned today of it), but it will not show non-SUP-enabled journals (all the rest of us) at all on the "checking to see who viewed my journal" page. I am open to finding out more about this if there are more questions!
Thanks again to
marta for keeping an open dialog with us!
Now, we know this is progress. But how much progress? Is it enough?
I leave that to you guys. (Also, this poll is open to ALL LJ users; pardon my error on the last one ;/ )
NOTE: I am not including a question on the interest issue here, because I think it would be wiser to wait and see how we feel after the code push. The last poll has demonstrated that we seem to be disinterested in ANY interest filtering, but I figure we may as well let LJ try and fix the system before we give it another judgment. If the effort is still not enough, we will come back to the table on it. (Which will likely be the case, but it can't hurt to try a compromise first.)
Poll Progress Check If you feel further change is needed, please comment with more information. If you feel the issue is resolved... then this might just be cause to hope that we are being heard ;]
