I really need to learn to label my tapes as I make them.
Today, at random, I popped into the VCR a tape that is only labeled "BTVS s.7/ATS s. 4/SV s.2/Spring 2003/Tape #???". No episode names or airdates. So I took notes, fastforwarding ca. 40 minutes at a time, until I had enough to figure out which was which from an episode guide.
The only episode (of six on the tape) I could name from memory was SV "Skinwalker".
*headdesk*
This is what I discovered I had:
BTVS "Lies My Parents Told Me"
SV "Skinwalker" (with commercials)
ATS "Players"
SV "Suspect"
ATS "Inside Out"
SV "Insurgence"
What's really weird is that "Suspect" and "Insurgence", according to Kryptonsite, both aired in January 2003 and the BTVS and ATS episodes aired in the spring of 2003. Plus, "Insurgence" precedes "Suspect". Supposedly. "Skinwalker" aired in November of 2002.
And how did I end up with three episodes of SV but only one ep of BTVS on this tape?
I have absolutely no memory of what explains this situation. I remember seeing the Jossverse episodes - vaguely. I only really remember seeing "Skinwalker" in the Smallvilleverse. Clearly, repeats of some kind are involved - weren't there repeats of SV before Charmed or something?
And why does "Skinwalker" have all its commercials? Why wasn't I home that evening? Or was I sick?
Well, one poorly-marked tape down - only twenty or thirty more to go. At least some of the ones from the early days of ATS I know are well labeled.
(Don't ask me the state of my SG-1 tapes.)
