Review...

Ok, well in the midst of finals, school ending, and then holiday hoopla, I finished my second review, woohoo!

Here ya go agillious:
WRITTEN REVIEW (Should be at least a paragraph...3 to 5 sentences)
1) What are your first impressions of the journal? What did you like? Not like? How do you think things could be improved? Overall what did you think of the journal?
Overall, I think Greg is a really cool guy who seems to have a great personality and that comes through in his writing. You can guess a lot about him by the things he writes, especially about his friends and his girlfriend. He seems to be very caring, and concerned about world issues, not just day to day life, which is appealing.

Offers email, ICQ, text messaging, no website, 2 points
2. Are interests listed?
106 listed, very diverse taste, 2 points
3. Do they have user pictures? Enough, too few?
12 unique pictures, 2 points
4. Do the pictures reflect the user, are creative, original? Do they keep with the style of the journal?
well...the style of the journal was kinda blah in my opinion, and the pics are too. Mostly abstract pics, simple, which is probably what he was going for. How they reflect him? I'm not sure, to me, they didn't seem to fit his dynamic personality. 1 point

Ok, for his biography he just leaves us with a creative quote, not much of a bio. 1 point

well as I illuded to in my initial reactions, Greg has a great personality and sense of humor, is very caring, and has a wide variety of diverse interests and passions, it would have been nice to hear more about him in the bio.

Journal (30 points) 6 points each
1. Do they post frequently? Are there large gaps between posts? If so, do they give explanations why?
I started in Jan. of this year, entries were pretty frequent, then in June, large gaps every month til November, no explanation, other than day to day busyness. But on some days there were several posts, although a lot of them, quizzes and one liners. I'll go with 3 points here.

2. Is the journal overall grammatically correct? Is the spelling, capitalization, punctuation good? Is it easy to read?
Overall, grammar was good, easy to read, 6 points

3. Depth of posts: Do the posts have much substance to them? Do their posts consist of a good length or are they brief? Do the posts make you want to continue reading the journal?
More posts didn't have substance than the ones that did. And the ones that did, few and far between, and still not very substantial. Some entries were fairly long, detailing every grueling minute of his weekend, others were really short. Honestly, sorry, no, I had to force myself to keep reading. 2 points

4. Do post flow well or is it difficult to follow their train of thought in journal entries?
Flowed well, except when he was on meds for his back, and I can relate, 6 points

5. Do the posts have overall variety? Do they stay on one subject or write about various things/events? Do they post pictures, links, quizzes or polls, if they do are they hidden by the lj-cut tags? Does that make up a major part of the journal or is their a balance between those things and written entries? Quizzes links and polls should be kept to a minimum and the lj-cut tages should be used to cover them.
Initially the posts had variety to me, I thought this is a cool, intelligent, interesting guy, but as I read on, he wrote in detail about his weekends, etc. and it was all the same old, same old, so therefore, no variety. He did include poetry now and then, not much of it I got his message on, and he did several quizzes, some multiple in one day, and they were not behind cut tags. 2 points

Journal comments/suggestions:
Maybe use a different style, more indicitive of his creative personality (poetry). Talk more about his feelings, that was only sporadic in the journal. Don't necessarily need lunch details everyday, but hey, maybe that's where he came up with Lunchbox for his name?
