We had progress check at the Academy tonight, and I acquited myself well in both striking and grappling, which was no mean feat considering how sore, fatigued, and ridiculously overtrained I feel. I've put in nearly ten hours of hard training over the past three days, including instructors training last night and a two-hour sparring session with my instructor after classes on Monday. In the long run this will help get my cardio stamina up, but for the next couple of days I need to rest and give my muscles time to recover, or I'm going to be sluggish for a while. Now I have all sorts of bruises, welts, and sore joints to ice down.
I would find a less painful hobby, but this is just too damn fun.
