Wicked
Wicked was awesome. Period. Was it a perfect musical? No. But it rocked all the way through, with humor and heart and a spectacular set and even more spectacular lighting and effects and good-to-great music and outstanding performances by the whole cast. It became the capstone of the entire weekend.
'Twas lovely to have my lady here, to explore the city and see things I haven't before (including Chinatown), to eat and drink and make ready for Halloween. Made me realize how much of Chicago I really don't know, despite having lived the better part of 29 years on its edge. Now, for the week!
Oh, and I'm still wiped out - have slept not nearly enough in the last two weeks, and late night classes and competition team practices are leaving me a bit sore the next morning. 'S all good, though. It's worth it.
