Ivy for Bonsai

Jun 19, 2006 13:35

Hi guys! I just got back from the nursery, and guess what I found there? it's a small ivy! It's called Baltic Ivy, and it's a Hedera helix (meaning it's an English Ivy variety). The leaves are itty bitty! It's perfect to plant with bonsai. I have one tree in a tall pot, and I was looking for something nice to trail over the edge and down the side of the pot. At first all I could find were various succulents, which wouldn't be able to tolerate the same watering that the tree gets. But this is nice. I figured it'd just need regular trimming down to keep it small, but hey, I take care of bonsai; I'm used to keeping things trimmed and small.

Just thought y'all'd like to know about the cool plant!
