Hi all,
My name is Dawnielle and I don't currently own a Bonsai. I love Juniper ones though and would need some tips on caring for one before I tried to get another one. The first thing I will ask about Junipers is do they have to be cut? Like designed? Or, dan you just let them grow? I used to have three of them and I lived in Vancouver Wa. I kept it outside and brought it indoors when it snowed. I now have moved to Duluth Minnesota and was wondering if maybe a juniper would do better here? The reason I was asking about having to cut them, is that I am blind and I love the feel of junipers, and the scent, but if I were to try to cut it, I wouldn't want to hurt it. Also, I was wondering about snow. Is it ok for a juniper to be in snow? Will it freeze the tree? How often should I water it, with how much water? Should I fertalize it with that stuff they give you, or use some natural fertalizer, such as rabbit droppings?
I am sorry about all the questions. It is just that I have had three juniper Bonsai's and they lived progressively longer lives with each tree I had. I am going to be moving in to an apartment soon, so I won't be able to do any research on them myself. I don't have a patio, so I probably won't be able to keep a juniper inside, will I? Dang it! I just realized that! I love those guys! They remind me of the trees at home in Washington.
Anyway, I'll talk to you all later. If you have any thoughts on what would be a good Bonsai to get, since I can't keep a juniper indoors, let me know.
Thank you,
Dawnielle
