Millions of pictures from Getty Images for your blog!

Getty Images, one of the world’s leading stock image databases, recently opened over 35,000,000 images for use in non-commercial purposes in websites and blogs! LiveJournal has added support for inserting these images into posts using an embed code, similar to how you would insert a YouTube video.

The embed code can be acquired directly from the Getty Images site. An example of how to use this can be seen below.

1) Find the image you want to use. For this example we will be using the image at http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/member-of-the-public-pose-inside-the-lobby-during-mbfwi-news-photo/477854685.

2) Click on the embed icon and copy the embed code:

3) Click the "insert media" button on the LiveJournal update page or any comment page and paste the embed code:

4) Post the entry or comment, and you're done!

Note that while this image displays on Getty Images with a price listing, you are still able to embed it for free so long as you are using it for non-commercial purposes! If you are unsure if your use of an image would be commercial or not, please contact Getty Images before using the image.
