DO. NOT. WANT.

Give us a permanent opt out option on this ugly wanna-be tumblr friends list disaster please.

Then again, I suppose this explains everything: http://www.dailydot.com/news/livejournal-shut-down-us-office/

Ditto this.

And that link does explain a hell of a lot...

Infinite scrolling is a pox. Don't "fix" something that isn't broken.

And this one offers brief translations suggesting paid accounts are going away (!?!)

LJ, this new uniform friends page is awful. Utterly awful. Not only does it look terrible, it's incredibly difficult to read. Plus I don't understand why the goal here is to take away our ability to customize our friends page. What is the point? It's not broken, do not fix it. If you're going to implement this, at the very least give us an opt-out option. Please.

Second all of this.
This is NOT an improvment.

The new Friends Page is completely unusable for me. The infinite scrolling quickly freezes and crashes my computer, making me unable to use my F-List at all.

Infinite scrolling is a TERRIBLE idea. I like to read all of the things on my friends page(s), and being able to switch pages is useful for that.

I hate infinite scrolling, I disabled it on Tumblr 5 seconds after getting one. Why do they think this is a good idea?

this. please let there be an opt-out option. :(

Even though the release is live now I still don't see the link. None of the workarounds work either...

Do you use custom CSS? I do and I don't see the link on this journal, but I do on another. If you have another account or don't mind switching away from your style temporarily, you should be able to see it.

I don't use custom CSS and I don't see the link. I do, however, still use an S1 style.

I do not want the new friend page design and will not be switching. If you force this on us I WILL leave. I've been here 10 years and I am a paid user with YEARS of paid time left. If you force me to leave by keeping this change, I will also be filing to get the money on my paid time left BACK!

And I WILL be calling in the morning to tell you this vocally.

LISTEN TO YOUR USERS FOR ONCE AND FORGET THIS NEW FRIENDS PAGE IDEA!! No one wants it!!

I agree - If this is forced on us I too will be cancelling my paid subscription with livejournal at the end of my year and heading over to Dreamwidth.

I'm gonna need a whole lot back - I bought a permanent account when they were selling them a few years ago. I am not happy about this crap. >:(

I completely agree. I stay on LJ with multiple paid accounts because of the customization that makes my LJ pretty/useful. If you take that away, I may as well move to Dreamwidth or another service.
