notifications system

We have made a great deal of improvements to the notifications system, based on your feedback and based on our ongoing testing. There have been so many fixes that I may have forgotten to list some of them here; however, we have kept track of everything that's been reported, so if you don't see the issue listed in the "Known Issues" section, you can ( Read more... )

Does this mean it's available to paid members now, too?

Not yet, no -- still permanent accounts only.

Then maybe the "public betatesting" tag is a bit of a misnomer - should be more "limited betatesting" ;)

A problem I've been experiencing the last few days (2-3) is that I wasn't getting ANY comment notifications whatsoever. In doing some research, my Yahoo! mail somehow had blocked the lj-notify email addy, which is weird becuase I did NOTHING to change that.

However, under other LJer advice, I've turned off all tracking and now I'm getting notifications again --- BUT they don't actually show up in my email box. My Yahoo! tells me I have new mail from LJ-notify, but I get NO email in my actual box.

Now, I don't know if this is a Yahoo! issue or an LJ issue but it's really really a problem and if you have ANY advice at all, I'd appreciate it.

My lj notify goes to my yahoo account as well and I've had no issues receiving notifications or getting the actual messages. You may look into creating an lj filter so that way all emails containing lj info will go to a specific folder in your yahoo mail instead of your inbox.

The instructions on how to do that can be seen here: http://help.yahoo.com/us/index.html

Just type in "How do I create filters?" Hope that helps.

Thanks, I don't think that's the problem as I'm getting other mail just fine and Yahoo! likes to give me that notification of "you've got mail" style when a new one arrives - it's part of my Yahoo! Messenger features - like yours just did - it's just that the mail itself never actually appears in my email box anywhere. It's invisible, I guess, lol! I'm not sure creating a filter will fix that, but I'll do it and see what happens.

Thanks!

You're welcome even if it doesn't help. Check the filters out thought. They're pretty cool. I have a folder for Lj only, one for another site I'm a member of, one that's just regular inbox, blah blah.

Anyway, best of luck.

Are we supposed to be able to track stuff now? If so, how does that work?

Sorry for the confusion about that -- no, it's still only open to permanent account holders for now.

Oh :pout: ok. Will it be made available to paid members in the near future?

In the message center if you check the top check box it checks them all, then clicking delete will delete all checked.

What can I do if I have more than 70 pages?

Check your message center more often? :)

Yeah in that case a delete all would be good. :)
