As many of you are aware, LiveJournal underwent an attack last week which resulted in some downtime and caused other accessibility issues during this time. While the attack is over, some intermittent issues remain which we are in the process of fixing ( Read more... )

As usual that does nothing for permanent members. Can we please have a few icon slots? Anything? We could not access the site either and that was also frustrating. You are not serious.

This is totally frustrating.

And don't say that permanent members don't deserve compensation for the same frustrations that everyone else have. That is just not true. This has been just as frustrating for me as anyone else...

LJ always forgets this level of member when it does this kind of thing.

Are YOU serious?

All of the LJ staff and many of the volunteers have Permanent accounts, and they had just as much trouble as we end users did accessing the site. They're perfectly aware that Permanent users were affected, too.

The whole point of a Permanent account is to ensure your Paid time never expires and to enjoy the maximum limits of userpics and other perks not readily available to Paid users without purchasing add-ons. They can't offer us anything without having to raise some of the existing data limits, and I frankly see no need for it. It's really just the Paid users (and those who purchased add-on packages that have expiry dates) who have the most to lose from a concrete, financial standpoint.

Oh yes they could. See this happy little kittyface I have attached to my icon? It expires next month. It's an add-on. They could fling me a half year of that. It's roughly equivalent to two weeks of paid time. Could fling all of us half a year of a custom userhead.

Or a couple of otherwise-paid V-gifts we could give to folks.

It's the thought that counts. Shut yer gob.

It IS the thought that I am talking about. Exactly. They never seem to think of permanent members.

Just wondering, but would you please tell me whether or not you think the number 0.999... (with an infinite number of 9's after the decimal point) is equal to or less than 1?

I was asking phyncke, who seems to not understand the concept of infinity.

Aw :( Well, I'd give you a cookie or something for the answer, but you're a paid user so it wouldn't be ~fair~

This aside, I really like it and not having to renew each year. It is a good deal.

I hope they go on sale again soon. It's been a while, as I recall.
