I probably shouldn't post when I'm upset, but I have to say that 2008 really sucked. It had a couple of highlights, but it's been punctuated by some deep traumas. My family each cried a little bit this week for the people we lost this year (my dog, my mother's favorite aunt, my dad's mother), and now I've just found out that one of my friends died yesterday in a skiing accident. I should be glad that my family, right now, has their heath (mom's mom is just starting to feel better after a bad reaction to some medication), and that we are financially stable (parents jobs are almost recession-proof), but still...
We had a safe and happy Christmas, with good food, good conversation, good games, and safe travel. I am grateful, but I can't help but hope that next year is an improvement on this year. I wish the same for all of you, flist, no matter what this year was like for you.
