Gosh. I think this is the longest I have ever gone without updating this thing!
'Henry IV part 1' was absolutely fantastic. I would be tempted to say I enjoyed it more than 'Macbeth' but I don't think that would be truthful. They were both such different productions that it would be unfair to compare the two. But it was amazing. Stood for the whole thing, right at the front, leaning on the stage! Totally Shakespeare how it should be seen! The cast were amazing, especially Rogar Allam who played Falstaff - he's one of those actors who has been in everything and you always go 'it's that bloke!'. But he was in 'V for Vendetta' and a fairly significant role if memory serves. So actual proper famous person (that no one has heard of...). Was also chuffed to see that the guy playing Hotspur (essentially the baddie of the piece) was played by Sam Crane who was rather magnificent in 'Desperate Romantics' last year. Top stuff. I am entirely and utterly in love with the Globe theatre. Back again next month for a play called 'Bedlam'. Not Shakey but a new piece. Not standing for that one. Have got a few piccies I took when seeing 'Macbeth' and few of the exterior of the place, might try and post them here.
Other than that, just same old same old. Work is, surprisingly, quite excellent at the moment. Lots to do, lots to learn, am getting quite a significant amount of praise (and a pay rise!) and it's just utterly alien to me! I have gone for so long hating the place, but find me something new to do and bingo! it solves everything. Well, not quite everything, but I am certainly considerably happier there now than once I was and that cannot be a bad thing.
