My brakes failed this morning. I mean, completely failed, pedal to the floor, no slowing down failed. Fortunately I was going slowly, and the hand brake was able to stop the car, and no one was right in front of me, and a dozen other things that could've made it so much worse. Today is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. It was the perfect day to go on an Urban Nature walk, led by urbpan. I had suggested we go to the Blue Hills Reservation at Great Blue Hill, a place I used to go all the time when I lived near there.
