It's been a fairly stressful week. My mom was in the hospital; she had what they called an "asthma event," but she's home now and doing much better. Apparently this lit a fire under the senior housing folks to find her a ground-floor unit and a better parking space; she has to move in two weeks, but that is less stressful for her than facing winter ( Read more... )

My mother is a (self-appointed) font of wisdom, dispensing advice for everything from cars to cooking. I do have to admit, though, that she is usually right. Today I saw an article about consuming hot water from the tap, which is something she told me a few years ago. She was even right about the reason: lead.
