It rained again today. It seems like it hasn't stopped raining all summer. Rained when I got out of school, flooded for a lot of June and today it poured. Weee. I had a very long conversation with Sarah Mullens today over AIM discussing our theories of Harry Potter. We've decided that Hogwarts doesn't start until after highschool and we aren't going to apply to universities, we're waiting for our Hogwarts letter. It sounds like a good plan to me. I continued to read Jane Eyre today, it's an excellent book (no duh) and I am really enjoying it. I have come to the conclusion that I enjoy books more if I watch the film adaptations first. I know alot of people don't agree with me, but I believe it's true. If you read a book and then watch the film, all you can expect to be is picky, complaing about what they left out, or casting decisions. But if you watch the film first, you are for one really excited to read the book, already have a picture of the characters in your head and I find it makes it an enjoyable activitity to read. I have done this with most Jane Austen books, lots of Austenites would kill me, but I have enjoyed both the adaptations and the books, nor do I claim to be an expert after watching the film/mini-series. That's my opinion on the matter.
Babysat today at 2:50, which was the most low-key job I have had thus far while babysitting Anne Marie and Abby. We got there and the girls were napping. We just sat on the couch and read Anne Marie's books, which I have become like obsessed with, they are so good. Lol, I am such a dork I know. Abby woke up first and we just did a Strawberry Shortcake puzzle. Anne Marie woke up pretty late and just seem tired and out of it and she explained to us the book we had read was a series and we begged her to let us borrow the rest. Isn't that sad? She's almost 7 and we're 17 and we're begging her for her Rainbow Fairies series. I should really be checked out. Then John came home early, like an hour early and we were allowed to leave. Pretty simple.
We went to Kelsey's and just hung out at her house and talked about Harry Potter. Go figure. We then went out to dinner to Hyde Park Grill where I had a delicious turkey burger. Low key. Then we went home and watched The Mask of Zorro and parts of Sarah, Plain and Tall. I love S, P &T, with Glenn Close and Christopher Walken. It's amazing. Right up there with Love Comes Softly and Love's Enduring Promise (which I am obsessed with). They are having a Love Comes Softly and its sequels marathon on Saturday. I will be watching it...oh wait, recording it-- I'll have Harry Potter then.
That's all I did today. I hope to go to the gym tomorrow, I am so sore--can't move my legs!
