we're all kids. 40 years from now, we won't be telling our kids stories about high school and be like 'oh high school was great except for liz, the blemish on my beautiful past.' (keep in mind that birthmarks are 'blemishes,' but most people feel like they're part of what makes them who they are. sometimes they even look like butterflies or something)
It'll be more like 'i remember this girl from high school who was one of the most intellegent people i knew. she was really involved and had lots of friends and although she could be seen as cynical, she was actually looking at things with a broader perspective and realizing how meaningless high school relationships would actually be in the rest of her life while she did her best to prepare for her future.'
...ok that might not be what they say, but then again not too many people speak the truth.
and being hard to put up with isnt bad. it just guarantees that whoever you end up with, if theyre willing to put up with you, is certainly worth your time.
btw - dont worry about trying to be normal. the weird and crazy and awkward people are the ones who strive to (and always do) wind up better than normal.
