For a while now I've noticed that when I wash my hair, my face feels like it's on fire for several hours after I get out of the shower. I only wash my hair once a week (unless there are extenuating circumstances) and am very absent-minded so I never got around to trying to find a shampoo for sensitive skin.
This weekend I decided enough was enough and I was going to try that 'bicarb-soda wash and vinegar rinse' method of hair washing. After a while spent Googling and discovering that every page disagrees on ratio, I dumped a few teaspons of bicarb soda into a container, grabbed the apple cider vinegar bottle and headed to the shower. It feels pretty weird rubbing soda-paste into your scalp, but not quite as weird as dumping vinegar over your head.
Anyway, it seems to have been a success, since my hair is soft, fluffy and wavy today. The downside is that I think I used too much vinegar, as it's still a bit whiffy after two rinses and 24 hours. Ah well, learning experience! Next time I'll know better. And it's not noticeable unless you're the wearer of the hair.
