The Quarter Finals
Pre show ramblings
Coleen’s injured, but apparently skating tonight. She’ll be behind on practice though. She really has to go tonight - I have fears she’ll end up in the final otherwise. Everyone who’s left other than her could hold their own in the final, but she doesn’t belong there.
I’ve seen a picture of Jess’s training and there’s an awesome looking move there.
Ray was alleged to be doing an axel but it seems he’s actually doing a Russian Split Jump. I assume not both because he wouldn’t have time to learn a routine as well!

That was very fast paced and funky. I liked it!
Ramblings
Required element: Unassisted jump
Of course it’s the most difficult required element yet; the whole point is they get more difficult each week!
We’re out of required elements I can do - can only do this one by the barrier!
Pink Matt? That’s usually Fred’s colour! Also not usually a good sign. It can be done though - Suzanne survived the curse of the green.
Zoe and Jess clash, they should not be stood together.
The Competition
Jessica and Pavel - Mercy (Duffy)
[T] Why the heavy blue eye make up for training?
The candle lift is so pretty!
[S] Nooo, this is Nina’s song! My brain!! Weird version of the song though.
One of the jumps went a bit wrong but the lifts didn’t.
Some of the dancing was a little bit stilted but the skating was good.

Donal and Florentine - Let’s Stick Together (Bryan Ferry)
[T] He’s making such good progress!

[S] She looks so pleased the car move worked!
That was good but I don’t think it was as polished as his routines have been recently.
The kneeling shoulder pose looked awkward.

Zoe and Matt - Run (Leona Lewis)
[T] Sheeeesh, enthusiasm there!
Oh no Zoe, you HAVE to do well this week! You can’t lose the confidence.
[S] That was beautiful. And emotional! The jump could have been better and there was a little stumble, but I loved it! Just wish they’d used the original version of the song.
She seems to have her leg strapped too.
[J][23.5] No way! I can only assume the low marks are from the poor required element.
Coleen and Stuart - Diamonds Are Forever (Shirley Bassey)
[T] Stuart doesn’t seem to believe she’s injured.

[T] I love the split jump. I kind of want him to fail.

I actually quite enjoyed that. I didn’t feel it the same way I felt Zoe’s though.

The Skate Off
I can’t take much more of this. I love Dancing on Ice but I hate the skate off with a passion. My stress levels soar.

Hadn’t realised before that Florentine matched Donal’s landing on the jump rather than doing it perfectly but not matching!
It would be nice for Maria to have a partner I actually like rather than just tolerate.

I can’t take this. People at work judge my likely mood on a Monday by who went the night before. It’s not looking promising.

FFS NOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Coleen’s in the semi final. Not on. I can see the bolero being Coleen vs Ray.
Jess looks utterly terrified, Zoe seems to have been expecting it. I fear Zoe might go.
I wanted both of tonight’s people in the final and that can’t happen now. :o(
Ice Star

Was that little girl Tamieka? I don’t remember seeing her audition on the show but it looked like her in an interview clip there. Weird.
Awww, Daniella and Ethan didn’t make it through.
Daniel didn’t make it either (though I already knew he didn’t win)
I’m not really fussed about seeing any of these acts on tour!
The Skate Off
Jessica and Pavel - Either I was concentrating more this time or it was slightly better than before.
Also, it’s taken me til that performance to realise how a toe loop is different to another jump. Whoops.
Zoe and Matt - Damn, jump still wasn’t great. Still beautiful though.
I think Zoe will be gone :’o(
I predict tears from Karen.

I’m very sad to see Matt go and Zoe has been fab for the past few weeks. But Jess is overall better and had to stay. I only fear now that she won’t actually make it to the final.
Awww, Matt's upset. But Zoe's gracious in defeat and already looking forward to the tour.
