The Cutting Edge 2: Going for the Gold

Apr 05, 2008 16:03

Christy Carlson Romano cannot act. Not in this film anyway. I watched The Cutting Edge 2 this afternoon because (a) it's skating and (b) Fred and Mel are skating doubles for the leads in The Cutting Edge 3 and I'm trying to decide whether to buy it with the Amazon giftcard
lozzy got me for my birthday. The second half of the film isn't actually that bad and I will admit I still fell for the predictably cheesy ending but OMG she is bad. And the first half of the film is cringey. The whole thing is predictable. Apparently #3 is better though. The character of Alex was good though, he was quite cute. And his learn to skate montage was very cute indeed.

It's not as good as Ice Princess though, despite the cheese that's a better skating movie in my eyes.

Hehe hockey skating cameraman (watching the behind the scenes bit). Yay Jamie! She worked on Holiday on Ice and also Cutting Edge 3 (there's a pic of her and Melanie). She's cool.

I'm disturbed by the fact Christy seems to be turning into Elizabeth Berkley.
Part of me really wishes I had had skating lessons as a kid but the realistic part of me says that I wouldn't have been that interested as I really wasn't a sporty kid (although I always liked skating on the rare occasions I went) and we probably couldn't really have afforded it.

Cutting Edge 3 trailer

Okay, the not-Mel is hot. I totally want this. And a multi-region DVD player.

OMG is that the Fred and Mel signature move I see?? Well that's one way of knowing whether it's the actors or the pros skating!

*edit 3*

That's totally Fred at the start of the trailer doing the death spiral. It's his head (what?? I notice these things). Also I checked on the behind the scenes clip on their website which confirmed it.

film, ice skating
