Quickly...
Went to the high school today for a surprise visit. Walked into the band room during Sulzman's planning period and surprised him. He was definitely shocked, as I caught him mid-bite on his chicken-salad sandwich. Classic. Got a hug, laughed at his Christmas themed outfit and then sat around talking for the next hour and a half. We doesn't have to be chorus teacher next semester! woo! He's excited... he got the phone call while I was there and he actually teared up a bit he was so happy. Awww. Parents say the chorus was better than ever with him instructing it though, so that sucks for them. Also, keep in on the d/l, but Sulzman totally uses 'shrooms. I keed, I keed (inside joke)!
Well, being stupid I left Noah's christmas gifts at home (Noah is Sulzman's nearly 4-year-old son, and my parents and I dote on him a lot), so I had to come back, grab a bite of lunch, and then return to see the band kids third period (edit: my third period I of course mean fifth period, since they're not on block schedule anymore... gah, so confusing). Shane knew I was coming so he was unamused, but Ashley about had a heart-attack when I walked in. Then went to the journalism room... Griz is running the paper like a champ. I'm so proud of her. The paper's definitely gone downhill since my group left, but at least she's a kickass editor in chief.
Mrs. M was super, super impressed by my portfolio. Looooved my leads. If that's not a good feeling, I don't know what is.
Boy, I don't miss high school though. I miss the people, miss the band, even miss the paper, but woo boy... everytime Sulzman goes off on the school politics I'm soooo glad I escaped more or less unscathed. *whew*
