(no subject)
My computer just fucking died. Again.
Now, for those not aware, my hard-drive crashed back in April. Just cut out on me one day and said :"Operating System not Found." I bawled long and hard about that one, after losing three years worth of stuff.
In July, I finally had my hard-drive replaced. The guy told me it was an IBM, and he'd never seen one of those crash.
So tonight, as I was burning CDs for the road trip home, it started making awful noises. And then froze. Since I live with two tech geeks now, I called Michael in to help me. He tried repairing windows and fixing everything he could that way. Then he called in Owen. After doing all they could, they took out my hard-drive and tried hooking it up to Owen's computer.
First of all, the "IBM hard-drive" turned out to be a Toshiba. Second of all, after just FOUR MONTHS, it's no good.
So, sounds like Dustin and I will be going computer shopping with my parents over the weekend. And I will be sending my Mom to yell at the guy that fixed it and hopefully get some of her money back. That's just wrong. This couldn't come at a worse time either... too many assignments due next week to be computer-less.
Thankfully almost all of my pictures have been uploaded online, so I didn't lose nearly as many this time. But I did lose some writing and all my assignments thus far. Yarr. Plus all my precious AIM conversations, which I really do go back and cherish. *sigh*
This has been an awful week. Nothing seems to be going right. Personal issues, plus my grandpa's health, plus Kerry losing, and now this. This weekend better be as good as I'd hoped. *sigh*
