Well, the last two days in Gainesville were rather anti-climatic.
I went to lunch with Waxlax on Friday, started packing, and then ended up driving around gainesville for a couple hours chatting with Dustin before finally ending up at Steak-n-Shake.
Saturday I moved out of my dorm, which just ended up pissing me off because Mom got confused and didn't inform me that I had to call the rent-a-fridge guys in order to get them to pick it up (can I just say that it makes no sense for them to deliver it BEFORE you get to the dorm, but not pick it up AFTER you leave?). So my RA and I had to move the fridge downstairs (at least I was on the second floor) and I'm getting charged with improper checkout. It just made me hate the housing department at UF even more (I've been charged EVERY checkout... the 'missing' chairs at Springs, the 'missing' $700 table at Lakeside, and now this). UGH! Woot for no more dorms!
I was homeless from 1:30 PM until 10 PM. I had lunch at McAllister's and saw Katelin, went to see the Village with Becca 2, went to Do-Art and painted for about two hours, had dinner at Moe's and then drove around for an hour waiting on Alli to get back from dinner. Scafidi called me just after 10 to let me know that they were done...
So I went over to Alli's and was surprised to see that Scafidi's dad was still in town AND staying for the party! lol. I got to meet Alli's parents and her adorable little bro, and some of her other non-psp friends. So Scafidi, his dad, one of alli's friends and I started playing poker. I can see where Scafidi gets his "way with the ladies". After Scafidi and the friend had given up, his dad dealt the two of us hands. Before he put his hand down, he said: "I'm changing the rules now that I've seen my hand. Deuces are wild and this is strip poker." I had two pair, so I was feeling confident until he said that. He laid down a flush. haha. Those Scafidi men are rascals.
At 1 AM, I decided to go ahead and just drive home to Arcadia... the party was mostly people I didn't know and the people I did know were hiding in Alli's room. I played cards with Scafidi's dad and Patrick for like 90 minutes and I was ready to go. Waxlax showed up just in time to say goodbye. So I got a hug from Alli, said goodbye to Scafidi (which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be) and then said goodbye to his dad. His dad gave me a hug and told me I should come visit them in Palm Bay sometime, and said that if I had any troubles on the way home to call them. I (heart) his dad =). Waxlax was leaving as well, so we walked out together. I got a very long hug, even though he told me I have to come to Vero before he leaves for Boston. I'm sure I will. The drive home wasn't too bad... it was misty raining on some of it and there was definitely some hydroplaning action once I passed Tampa. Of course, no one else was on the roads, so it wasn't bad. I got home, crashed in my own bed, and all is well.
