(no subject)
So today was the 4th of July and it can't truly be a celebration of our Nation's birth unless there's grillin' and fire involved.
So, Shylie and I went shopping and bought steaks, bratwurst, broccoli and corn (plus S'mores for dessert) and headed over to Waxlax and Scafidi's for dinner. Waxlax grilled the steaks (with Scafidi giving him instructions... *grunt*) and then the four of us, plus Todd (the third roommate) had a wonderful dinner. Afterwards we were able to catch the awesome fireworks display that the neighbors were putting on... unfortunately this put Waxlax and Scafidi's fireworks to shame! . Besides dodging debris, it was good times.
Then the rest of the gang (Oded, Matt Mc, Lindsey, Alli, Katie H., Curtis) showed up and it was time to start the show. Amusing: watching Scafidi shoot fireworks from his crotch. Not so amusing: Scafidi shooting a roman candle at the crowd. Amusing: watching the boys almost catch the trees around the apartment on fire. Not so amusing: watching them pour lighter fluid on a flame they'd created. and by lighter fluid, I mean nearly an entire container. I'm amazed that no one got hurt.
Then came TV, talking, drinking, and more random visiters. Shylie and I made a second food run for drunken Oded and Curtis, more grilling occured, and then we decided to leave because a huge group of us are going canoeing tomorrow. And that means I need sleep!
