nooo! you can't make me leave!

Honestly, right now I have no desire to return to Gainesville. Gainesville holds responsibilites, school work, articles to write, fundraising stuff to plan. Home = sleep, relaxation, yummy food, time for exercise, trips to the beach and watching TV with my parents every night (yes, that's a plus). Arcadia is refuge for me, and I'll miss it.

The three weeks have flown by. I'm dreading the return, except for getting to be around my Gainesville friends again. But I could really use another month or so at home. Being in school straight through since June '04 is really starting to wear on me. Only a few more months and I'll have an entire summer break (for the first time since I was 17), so that's good.

In honor of dreaming ahead for that summer break, I went to Englewood today. Had lunch at Lickety Split (which was FULL of snowbirds. I was the only one there under the age of 65, I swear), then headed to the beach. Was probably about 72 but the sun kept it warm enough to still get a little tanning done as I walked the beach. Made it almost to the end of the island, but it was high tide and I didn't feel like wading through the freezing water to make it to the end. I stopped in this little cove and just stood there thinking for about 30 minutes. I decided that instead of my usual drive to Gainesville, I'm going to drive to Englewood, spend the morning at the beach again tomorrow, then drive through Venice and catch the interstate there. Not that much longer of a drive and I get another day at the beach ;)

I was going to add pictures but my camera batteries just died. So I'll post those tomorrow.

Gainesville, here I come. *sigh* EDIT: Ok, so Gainesville isn't so bad I guess. The lows for Friday and Saturday are 30/29 degrees! COOOOOLD! Yaaaaaay! Although I love getting to go to the beach on January 5th and all, I'd much rather get to wear my scarf! yaaay!
