Tonight was the most successful Liz/Devin cooking night thus far. Unfortunately Bravo sucks at the moment because it's playing reruns, but our dinner was fantabulous.

I made honey mustard/crunchy onion chicken strips, with pesto/sun-dried tomato foccacia and broccoli casserole. For dessert, Devin made these weird chocolate/peanut-butter things which were far too rich for my tastes.

It was funny - we looked through the same cookbook for dessert ideas. I picked all the lighter fruity desserts: lemon coolers, chocolate-chip/rasberry jumbles, etc. Devin chose chocolate pudding cake, loaded chocolate bars, etc. Heavy, heavy, heavy. Funny stuff. We also make a funny kitchen pair. I've done enough cooking where I'm comfortable in the kitchen, but Devin is just starting so he freaks out over everything. He also jumps the gun on a lot of things and isn't so great with following instructions. lol. I have to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't ruin things, but he's having fun in the process and that's the point.

Everything was absolutely amazing though. I wish I'd taken my camera, it looked gorgeous. His roommate came home and ate some of the chicken and gave us props too, so yay for me =).

Side note: I'm absolutely loving this cool front (minus the rain). It's so nice to walk outside and not feel like I'm walking into a sauna. Sure, our cool front means that it's 75 instead of 80 at night, but the severe drop in humidity makes all the difference in the world. I want to go for a walk and stay outside forever. I can't wait for Fall!

bravo tuesdays, devin
